Neurofeedback brain training
Neurofeedback (NF) is a type of biofeedback that uses technology to visually show what your brain is doing in real time by measuring and displaying electrical signals. Because the brain is highly adaptable, you can learn to adjust your own brainwaves for a better functioning system! NF only measures and offers feedback; it does not “give” electrical shocks. It is sometimes combined with other types of feedback such as heart rate variability, oxygen levels, or skin electroconductivity.
NF is currently offered by Fairbanks Somatic Therapy and Wellness at ND Systems downtown in Fairbanks which accepts most major insurance carriers including Medicaid.
Anxiety
After assessing your anxiety hot spots and discussing embodied relaxation techniques we can use NF to tailor calming sessions to remind your brain how to relax.
Neurofeedback supported therapy can address
Depression
By tracking sleep, mood, and brain waves we can create a customized plan to address depressive symptoms. Take control of your mood by enhancing your cognitive capacity!
ADHD
NF was acknowledged as an evidence-based treatment for ADHD by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2012. Using gamification theory we can use NF to map the way you pay attention and then engage in fun activities to hone your ability to focus.
